Wounded Battle Maiden and Capturer

Sister Mueller showing us her war injury and now wants a purple heart. One of her capturers.

Where O Where is My Snowblower

Just trying to shovel off 2 inches of very wet snow from the patio outside the Institute. I had already done the front entrance on the other side of the building. They never mentioned this part of the service. Next door are pads from a former portable building used by an International School. In the background you can see a tree house and a playhouse.

Carol's Handiwork

This picture is looking into the office and the library. It is taken from the main institute room. There is the main room, an office and a combination library and computer lab. The building is only about 3 years old. They took the other entrance and classrooms and turned it into the Institute. The pitctures of the Frankfurt Temple are on the radiator.

Guitar Heroes

Ines Genster and Jeremy Pratt playing Guitar Hero on the Wii. Jeremy is waiting for his mission call. He grew up here in Germany. Ines is the Chair of the Student Institute Council.

Lunch after District Meeting

Carol and missionaries preparing our lunch after a wonderful and spiritual district meeting.

American YSA Playing Bowling on the Wii

Kicking back in the cultural hall playing the Wii. From left to right Richard Ahlstrom, Shawn Nielsen and Eric Mathison. Richard just returned from his mission in France. Eric is in the paperwork process for his mission. Shawn is here for Christmas visiting his family.

Computer Lab

Kimba Norman (from Sierra Leone) and Madlein Schwab on the computers.

Computer Lab

Falk Kaestle, Manuella Bioleome and Benjamin Neideck (you can only see his head) on the computers. INthe background is the TV and DVD player in the main part of the center. Others are playing on the Wii. This is after an Institute Class.

Looking Down from the Spytower

Carol and I were the not so disguised spies for the Heidelberg District. We alerted our missionaries to invaders and tried to help position themselves for battle. However, in doing it it also told the Mannheim missionaries where our missionaries were. They had a fun day and got a lot of pent up energy out. They brought plastic swords and shields and had towels as capes

Mighty Warriors and Battle Maidens

The Mannheim and Heidelberg Districts after capture the flag.

Ice Skating

Ines Genster, Carolin Broo and Falk Kaestle at the ice skating party.

Amphitheater

This is from the stage looking up to the seating. The towers in the back were used for spotlights. This Theater is one of the few remaining. Since 1987 they have put on the play Lorely.

Hitler's Amphitheater

As a work project Hitler had 84 of these Amphitheaters built. He would bring the people here to talk to them about the need to support him and convert them to his way of thinking. This particular theater sits just below the top of Heiligenberg Mountain above Heidelberg. It seats 5,000 and has standing room for 3,000. We think the seats are built from the stones of the St, Michael's Basilica on the top of the Mountain. The picture simply does not do justice to the majestic size of the Amphitheater. This is looking down into from above.

Heidelberg District MIssionaries

The mighty warriors, battle maidens and overt spies after a day of fighting and relaxing.

Battle Maidens

Sister Mueller in front and Sister Jensen in back getting ready to defend their territory during Preparation Day

Getting Ready for Battle

The Mannheim and Heidelberg Districts getting ready for battle at the St. Michael's Basilica on the top of Heiligenberg above Heidelberg. This Basilica was built around 882 AD
